Overview

Eg Vagh Veg was founded durring the late 15th century in summer of the year 1397, by Durirfoubyrn Rådschå. The establishment of Eg Vagh Veg was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Durirfoubyrn Rådschå struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Eg Vagh Veg as a prison colony.

Eg Vagh Veg was built using the conventions of Dwarvern durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Eg Vagh Veg is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Eg Vagh Veg is buildings are speckled and packed arround broad paverstone streets with seemingly no patern to them. It appears as if the town's residents simply built streets as they pleased and squeazed buildings in wherever and howeave rpossible, creating an organic, frustrating to navigate, maze of a town. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Eg Vagh Veg's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The town's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the town's defences.

Eg Vagh Veg seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are smiling, quietly exchanging words with a friend, or simply enjoying the day as they work. It reminds you of an evening at home as everyone dined, having run out of things to talk about and embraced the savory meal before them.

Cultural Notes

Eg Vagh Veg's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.

In Eg Vagh Veg all of the cats speak in a dead language.

The Blink Dog near Eg Vagh Veg are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Reminders of this better time can be found in many places within Eg Vagh Veg.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Eg Vagh Veg was attacked by a group of guerrilla fighters. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Eg Vagh Veg lost 101 people, 399 livestock, and 32 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 73, when members of Eg Vagh Veg's militia enacted an operation to delay the operations of the enemy. The operation was complicated by the officer in charge of Eg Vadväq She's forces was incompetent, and issue many foolish and-or unprofessional orders. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a crushing defeat for Eg Vagh Veg's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Eg Vagh Veg's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
